Description
TBE is the most commonly used buffer for DNA and RNA electrophoresis. Since borate is a strong inhibitor of enzymes, TBE is recommended for DNA/RNA sizing, not for recovery of DNA for enzymatic applications. Routinely used for DNA automated sequencing gels. Used both as a running buffer and gel preparation buffer. Recommended for use with fragments smaller than 1500bp
